But when He comes, the Spirit of Truth, He will guide you to all truth Holy Spirit (Week 1) - May 6-12, 2013 Objective of the week: Prepare our hearts for the dweller of our soul: the Holy Spirit You may also download the printable versions below (.doc and .pdf):
Introduction We continue our journey in the resurrection of the Lord, and He is faithful to His promise, to be with us forever until the end of time (c.f. Mt 28:19). The invitation is to be open for this coming of the Holy Spirit in our hearts. Jesus prepared us as his disciples for the coming of the Holy Spirit. Why is it necessary to prepare for it? Because we need to learn that this work was not yet finished: that salvation was given, but it is the Spirit who will continue to work till the end, until all men know the gift of God in them. It is only then when the work is actually accomplished. This is the time of the Holy Spirit, the time of the action of God, coming to dwell in us and to make us his place. The place where He lives and completes his work of sanctification, to bring us up to the perfection of Christ: "Do you not know that your body is a temple of the holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own? For you have been purchased at a price. Therefore, glorify God in your body." (1 Cor. 6:19-20). His real presence in our lives will continue to act in us and lead us to the truth: "But I tell you the truth, it is better for you that I go. For if I do not go, the Advocate will not come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you.” (Jn. 16:7). This Jesus promises and fulfills in our hearts. MondayRecognizing Him as the Spirit of Truth |
