The Youth Encounter was a great experience and I can attribute the success and the greatness of the Encounter in three things: Place, Participants and Organizers. The Place of the Youth Encounter was great, it was remote and peaceful. It was far from civilization with the ambience of sanctity, just the right atmosphere for the youth to reflect on their life experiences and be able contemplate the presence of God around them. Also it gave them the implied idea to not frequently use their gadgets since usage of gadgets breaches partly the decorum that must be observed in the Encounter. Another thing was great with the place was the amenities, the rooms were great it was big and spacious giving the slumbering their needed peace and comfort to sleep. The other great thing was food! Yes the food should be stressed, because it was very delicious and bonus it was given always at every quarter during each day of the encounter. It ranged from bread, to the poultry species and deserts giving the participants their full stomachs to keep up with their code of conduct acronym COPE in every activity.
Moving to another thing are Participants. Though participants are not things but still they were 1/3 of the greatness of the Encounter. The participants were rambunctious, boisterous and very contemplative. In every activity you would see them enjoying themselves and laughing as if they had no problems in their lives. Truly a great sight to be seen the participants, because the participants of the Encounter were apart from society’s stereotypical youth that are pictured doing drugs and indulging in dangerous and hedonistic activities and wants. The last thing that made the encounter great was the Organizers which were divided into two groups namely the youth and missionaries. The youth organizers were not the “attitude” organizers who boast in their title but they were the enjoyable lot. They participated in the activities they organized and even helped the participants who were left behind a leeway to catch up with those who already owned the race. Also they gave us a friendly smile which gave us a friendly impression on them, which made our communication with them easy and comfortable. The other, the missionaries did not act as if age has caught up with them or the stress of organizing the Encounter has overwhelmed them instead they showed that deep unending boast of youthful demeano. It was evident in times wherein I was so tired already, because I felt the day was unending already, but Lo! A missionary was still full of energy. The encounter was an amazing experience; honestly if I would relive it again I would attend it 77 times and would like it to extend it to 40 days. I just hope, something like this event would happen again and it must be better or equal to this encounter, because I benefited from it two things: reformation and resolution. I can honestly say I have improved living my life 5% and it gave me the courage, the vow to turn my life 360o. Adelante!
