"My grace is enough for you" (2 Corinthians 12:9)Last Sunday, Jan 27, we had our first disciples' retreat for this year, held in Banawa Retreat House. How wonderful to start our year with a long time of prayer to help us grow in our spirituality and be mature in our following. It started with the rosary, then followed by the morning talk with Sis. Gaby, long time of prayer in silence and by the afternoon the projection of the activities for the whole year of 2013 and ended with the celebration of the mass with Fr. Michael Cheong. "My grace is enough for you" was the theme of the retreat and the invitation was "hear the call of God again." To listen to a familiar voice of God telling us to come back to Him for He is the real source of life, of our discipleship, of power and of love. Hear again His voice that moves us, that reminds us of our dedication to the charism and to live out our identity. Listen to His words that are so alive and active, sharper than any double-edged sword ( Hebrews 4:12 ) and allow God to give us horizons and open new ways for this year on how to bring His words to all His people, who were waiting for someone whom God sent. Through His words we can do "crazy things" for the sake of the mission and revive our intimacy with the Lord. Verbum Dei, what does the Lord ask from you for this year? Starting today, let's renew the call that brought us here. Renew the conversion of our discipleship. Be converted again by His words everyday. Pronounce the Word of God. Speak about Jesus. Be the carrier of the word through our life. If only we allow God to send us, you can transmit to others the good news. Verbum Dei, you are the promise that God want to fulfill for His people, the carrier of His words that saves. As what Fr. Michael said in his homily "Love the Word of God and believe it and act what the Lord is telling us. Verbum Dei, the spirit of the Lord is among you and many people are waiting for you." Do you believe that many people are waiting for you? Do you see the power of the Word of God working for you this 2013? "To this the Lord replied, "If you return, I will take you back, and you will be my servant again." (Jer 15:19) Allow God to bring you back and to say the word. For God does not change His mind of whom He chooses and blesses (Rm 11:29). See some of the photos of the event: (Photos by Lordie Capuras)
